Sunny Lyn Dagowitz- Southern CA victim?

The December 16, 1970 southern CA murder of Sunny Lyn Dagowitz was remarkably like that of Cheri Jo Bates.

*She was killed on campus
* She was killed in the parking garage after walking to her car
*She was stabbed repeatedly in the chest, arms, and back
*No known motive

Most likely she wasnt killed by Z, but this is an interesting case with some real Zyncronicity

Bumping this old thread, as it is so similar to the Bates case, and happened on her campus, and the killer looks so much like the Zodiac sketch. This happened in 1970. The killer was descibed as possibly being in his low 20's. This is about an hour from the home of San Bernardino's, ZODE suspect. He would have been in his low 20's at the time. For people that think Zodiac was the age of Cheri Jo Bates, and perhaps was in her class, then this could be a possible Z crime. And actually, I recall Howard saying that one of the suspects in the Bates case, moved to the L. A. area where this crime happened. Any thoughts?

Have been thinking alot more about this murder and the strange similarities to the Cheri Jo Bates case.

*Both were killed on their college campus

*Both were stabbed & slashed as they walked to their car

*No motive,no rape or robbery

*This attack happens in L.A. not far from Riverside.

This happened in December,1970. Let's look at the Zodiac timeline...

Zodiac writes a letter in October,1970. This girl is atacked in December,1970. Zodiac does not write another letter until March,1971, and when he does,he is writing to the L.A. Times. Why them???

During the 6 month absence of Zodiac's letters, the connection is made between Bates & zodiac. It runs in the papers. Then this girl gets attacked in a very similar attack to Bates. He then writes another letter, and sends it to L.A. which is something he never did before. He says 'there are a hell of alot more down there'. Is this girl one of them? Did Z go down there to try and do another Bates like attack? The killer looks a hell of alot like the Z sketch, but only younger perhaps 22 or so. That makes him the same age as a graduating student from Ramona HS in Cheri's grade would have been about this time. Remember, Riverside PD thinks that Cheri WAS killed by a fellow student, they just cant prove it(and I think they have the wrong one), and both Officer Slaight &Bryan Hartnell describe Zodiac's voice as "early 20's".

Anybody have anymore details about this case??
